“We are called to reconcile with our brothers and sisters”

“Jesus proposes to those who pursue perfection in love: a love whose only measure is that it has no measure, that goes beyond all calculations. Love of one’s neighbour is such a fundamental attitude that Jesus even states that our relationship with God cannot be sincere if we are not willing to make peace with our neighbour.” These were the words spoken by Pope Francis on 16 February 2014 during the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square.

“And he says this: ‘If then you present your offering at the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against with you, leave your gift there before the altar and go first to reconcile with your brother.’ Thus we are called to reconcile with our brothers and sisters before expressing our devotion to the Lord in prayer.”
